Samsung's next TWS earbuds are predicted to launch as the Galaxy Buds2. Now, a new leak may reveal their starting price ahead of their launch. The new alleged detail might put them squarely in the middle tier of their market.

Samsung had been rumored to introduce the Galaxy Buds2, possibly along with the next-gen Galaxy Watches, during MWC 2021. This did not exactly work out in reality; nevertheless, the OEM is still expected to launch these wearables in full during an August 2021 Unpacked event.

Of these, the TWS earbuds are now projected to launch in new colorways, albeit without perfectly matching cases as with their predecessors. Should this leak prove accurate, it might be an initial clue that the Buds2 are not intended to be premium devices.

Now, the latest Galaxy Buds2 tip seems to reinforce this impression. They are now predicted to cost between US$149 and $169, thereby matching the Buds+ in terms of starting price. This might also chime with additional rumors that neither generation of Samsung TWS earbuds has active noise cancellation (ANC).

In fact, the Galaxy Buds2 are now touted as Samsung's answer to the Beats Studio Buds. Therefore, unless the OEM has some surprise planned for its new wearables, they now may even be at slight risk of being the company's first real flop in this market.

The fact that the apparently similarly-spec'd Galaxy Buds+ can now be had for about $100, while the higher-end Buds Pro are now ~$170, does nothing to alleviate this potential situation.
