The latest version of Samsung's Galaxy Wearable app contains references to not just new Galaxy Watch and Galaxy Watch Active devices, but also the Galaxy Buds 2. The Wearable app states that Samsung has codenamed the earbuds 'berry.'

It is no secret that Samsung is working on new smartwatches, as we have reported previously. However, Max Weinbach has found some information about more than just new smartwatches in the latest version of the Galaxy Wearable app.

According to Weinbach, the app's source code now contains references to the Galaxy Buds 2 that Samsung has codenamed 'berry'. Based on the code snippet provided, the Galaxy Buds 2 will support multipoint connection and are, unsurprisingly, earbuds. All other Galaxy Buds 2 specifications remain unknown at this stage, though.

Additionally, Weinbach has found references to new Galaxy Watch devices, as we reported yesterday. In short, Weinbach believes that 'wise' and 'fresh' are codenames for Galaxy Watch models running Wear OS, such as the Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch Active 4. There may be two sizes of each though, along with LTE variants.

It is unclear when Samsung plans to release the Galaxy Buds 2. Rumour has it that the company will release its next Galaxy Watch devices before June 2021, so it may launch the Buds 2 then, as it did with the Buds Live and the Galaxy Watch 3. In saying that, it would seem rather soon for Samsung to make the Galaxy Buds Pro obsolete, since it only released these in January 2021.
