The Samsung Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+ and Galaxy S21 Ultra receive camera improvements with their latest updates
Samsung has made great strides from the Galaxy S20 series to the Galaxy S21 series, not least in the case of the Galaxy S20 Ultra and the Galaxy S21 Ultra. As we discovered during our review, the former had persistent autofocus problems that were not in keeping with a flagship smartphone. Thankfully, Samsung addressed this with the Galaxy S21 Ultra, but it was not finished with the Galaxy S21 series' camera feature set.
According to SamMobile, Samsung is now distributing an update that extends portrait mode across the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+ and Galaxy S21 Ultra. Initially, Samsung had only enabled portrait mode for its primary and ultra-wide-angle lenses, but this month's update expands this to the telephoto lens. The update upgrades the Galaxy S21 series to the April 1, 2021, Android security patch, too.
The update is currently rolling out in India, but it should reach other regions in due course. Please note that the update is over a 1 GB download, so we would recommend downloading it over Wi-Fi where possible.
