Samsung Galaxy A55: Galaxy A54 successor shows itself in leaked official images
Android Headlines has shared numerous official images of the Galaxy A55 5G, a few weeks after doing the same for the Galaxy S24. For context, this is not the first time that the Galaxy A55 has been pictured. Previously, @OnLeaks and MySmartPrice published renders of the upcoming device based on leaked CAD files, details of which we have covered separately. However, Android Headlines has somehow obtained various official images ahead of the device's release later this year.
Thus, the design shown should be finalised, which is not necessarily the case with @OnLeaks' renders. Unsurprisingly, the Galaxy A55 looks like a more expensive alternative to other recent Galaxy A series smartphones like the Galaxy A15 and Galaxy A25. On the one hand, the Galaxy A55 has slimmer and more uniform display bezels than its Galaxy A series siblings. Additionally, Samsung has elected for a punch-hole notch rather than the waterdrop alternatives found in the Galaxy A15, Galaxy A15 5G and Galaxy A25.
Moreover, the Galaxy A55 is said to have an aluminium frame that the rest of Samsung's new Galaxy A models lack. On the other hand, the new handset features Samsung's 'Key Island' design around its hardware buttons like the Galaxy A15 pair and Galaxy A25. According to Android Headlines, Samsung intends to release the Galaxy A55 'a couple of months' after the Galaxy S24 series, which will debut on January 17. While pricing remains a mystery at this stage, a recent Geekbench listing has confirmed the presence of an Exynos 1480 chipset.
