Samsung could unveil a new high-end OLED panel in early 2025. It uses Quantum Dot tech and will reportedly refresh at 500 Hz, making it marginally faster than LG Display's 480 Hz WOLED offering.

South Korean media outlet ETNews reports Samsung is working on an OLED gaming monitor that will push the boundaries of high refresh rate offerings. Apparently, it is set at 500 Hz, making it the fastest OLED panel on the market. While you can buy a 500 Hz monitor from MSI, Dell and Acer, they all use an IPS/TN panel, which can't compete with OLED in terms of image quality.

It will improve upon Samsung's existing QD-OLED tech. This particular panel will max out at 27-inches and operate at QHD (2,560 × 1,440) resolution. Currently, the fastest OLED panel on the market tops out at 480 Hz at the same resolution. LG Display unveiled it a few days ago. This might be why Samsung is hard at work one-upping it.

Other specs, such as its peak brightness, colour accuracy and response times are unknown at the moment. Samsung's new 500 Hz OLED panel is almost ready and will power high-end gaming monitors in 2025. We could see a bunch of them debut at CES 2025. They'll pair perfectly well with Nvidia/AMD GPUs that are also tipped to debut at the event.
