RedMagic has already confirmed that it will be unveiling a new gaming smartphone later this month. Sandwiched between Oppo's launch event today and Vivo's on April 21, the RedMagic 10 Air is set to arrive on April 16 as RedMagic's thinnest and lightest gaming smartphone to date. Incidentally, the RedMagic 10 Air may be joined by a high-end gaming tablet, too.
For now, RedMagic is keeping details about the latter under wraps. Conversely, the company has confirmed various details about the RedMagic 10 Air ahead of time. On the one hand, it has revealed that the device will launch with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 rather than the newer Snapdragon 8 Elite it affords to the RedMagic 10 Pro (curr. $749 on Amazon).
On the other hand, the RedMagic 10 Air will retain the Red Core R3 custom chipset found inside its Pro sibling. Designed to reduce latency while improving audio, visuals and haptic feedback, the Red Core R3 will be joined by a 'composite liquid metal 2.0' cooling solution that RedMagic hopes will keep thermal throttling to a minimum. Unfortunately, it remains unclear whether RedMagic intends to release the RedMagic 10 Air outside China.
