Signify has announced that it is raising the price of many Philips Hue products in the near future. At the start of the month, a marketing email sent to customers about a flash sale also included the following message: “Hurry, prices go up on July 1! Shop now and save before the increase.”
According to a recent report by Hueblog.com, Signify, the company behind the Philips Hue brand, has since provided more details about the upcoming higher pricing. It is quoted as saying that these US price rises were “as a direct result of tariffs”. In a statement to the blog, Signify went on to state that it “reserves the right to modify prices based on new or additional tariffs becoming effective in the future.”
Signify has yet to announce the new higher prices of the Philips Hue smart home products. However, the scale of the increase could have been demonstrated with the new Hue Smart Button v3. In Europe, the latest version of this smart lighting accessory is around the same price as its predecessor. However, in the US, the new model is priced at $31.99, a 28% increase on the cost of the Hue Smart Button v2 (RRP $24.99). The Philips Hue Flash Sale is still running in the US, offering customers signed up to the brand’s mailing list a 25% discount on some products.
