OPPO has launched the Reno5 series' flagship, confirming its premium attributes compared to the rest of these smartphones in the process. They include its Snapdragon 865 SoC and new 50MP main camera module in the process. It starts at 3999 yuan (~US$612).

OPPO has unveiled its Reno5 flagship, the Pro+. This phone has much of the same specs as its Pro counterpart, except for its upgraded silicon and camera set-up. The OEM has indeed also debuted the Sony IMX766 50MP sensor in this new device.

It joins 16MP ultra-wide, 13MP telephoto and 2MP macro lenses in the Reno5 Pro+. OPPO has imbued the quad-cam system with new software features such as Neon Portrait (which blurs light sources in night shots so as to focus on the subject); AI-enhanced "exquisite" shooting for ID photos and Soloop burst shots to aid editing.

Otherwise, its display is unchanged from that of the Reno5 Pro, 90 Hz refresh rate, 180 Hz touch sampling rate and all. Then again, it was also linked to the possibility of standing out with leather and even electrochromic rear panels, which hasn't come to pass.

Instead, OPPO has prepared a new generation of the Reno Glow light-bending treatment for its back glass, applied to the phone's Galaxy into Dream or Floating Night Shadow colorways. Otherwise, the OEM has also announced that this new premium device is the League of Legends Pro League (LPL) official smartphone for 2021.

The "normal" 8GB RAM/128GB internal storage and 12GB/256GB SKUs orders are now live, however, and go for 3999 or 4499 yuan (~US$689) respectively from OPPO's Chinese web-store.
