Sinchun Electronics: Chinese made Windows powered Tablet all set to hit the markets in U.S.
In one of the rare cases of a Shenzhen gadget hitting the US, the UMPC 891 has the guts to give competition to the mainstream tablets of the west
China’s Shenzhen Sinchun Electronic Co’s UMPC 891 tablet computer is ready to set foot on the American electronics market. Everything now is in FCC’s court, who has recently released some of the documents regarding the tablet computer manufacturer. The tablet is powered by Windows Operating System and has an 8.9-inch touchscreen with a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels and a 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 processor.
The snaps in the user manual of the Chinese tablet are almost similar to the Netbook Navigator Nav 9 tablet widely popular in the US and Europe market. The tablet has Bluetooth, 802.11b/g Wi-Fi, Ethernet, a 1.3MP webcam, 3 USB ports, a VGA output, and an SD card slot. The gadget weighs around 2.2 pounds and measures 9.8″ x 6.6″ x 0.84″. The FCC has released some real-time pictures of the tablet with images of the motherboard and other components. They are not saying anything about the release date as such, but speculations are that it might be brought to the market under a different brand.
This is an unexpected development because Chinese goods don’t generally find its way to the US markets. Can it be a change in trend marking the already strong Chinese manufacturing dominance?
