Asus: Asus Eee PC 1015PD to be up for sale soon

Taiwanese major ASUSTEK has a product page gone live for the Eee PC 1015PD. The latest netbook offers a wide variety of options.

Ever since the introduction of the Eee PC netbook range in October 2007, ASUS has achieved phenomenal success with it and the numerous awards are testimonies to that. And now, ASUS has added yet another product to its ever successful line-up of Eee PCs-the 1015PD.

The all-new Eee PC 1015PD comes powered with an Intel Atom N455 1.66GHz or N475 1.83GHz processor, coupled with 1GB DDR3 of memory and storage options of 160GB , 250GB or 320GB HDD. This new netbook features a 10.1-inch LED backlight WSVGA Screen offering a comfortable 1024x600 resolution. The device comes loaded with the Windows 7 Starter Edition and the Asus Express Gate quick boot software as standard. Additional features include a 0.3 megapixel camera, which by all means is unfair for a netbook and for the purpose it is used. Connectivity is through 802.11b/g/n WLAN and Bluetooth 3.0. Standard ports are amply available with the option of inclusion of a USB 3.0 port.

The Eee PC 1015PD has dimensions of 262x178x23.6~36.4mm as stated by the official page and weighs a mere 1.25Kg with a 6-cell battery. You can choose one of yours in one of the three colors available- White, Black, Blue. If ASUS’ battery figures are to be believed, then depending on battery configuration, this netbook will give between 4.5 and 13 hours of backup.

Taking all this into account, the Eee PC 1015PD is a good buy considering the features it comes with. All said and done, pricing will decide the fate of this newbie.
