The much awaited Samsung Galaxy tablet may not be far now

The 7-inch Android tablet should be in stores before August ends

The much-anticipated Samsung Galaxy should hit the market sooner than we thought, may be as soon as in two weeks – as reported by Electronista. The 7-inch slate should be launched during a special event by Samsung on August 11^th. This toy runs Android and is expected to compete head-to-head with the Apple iPad. Although the invitation does not say anything specific about particular products – there are strong indications of announcement of the Galaxy as that is the major rumor circulating right now.

The Galaxy should run Android 2.2, codenamed Froyo, on top of a 1.2GHz Cortex A8 processor. It should sport Samsung’s AMOLED display for which the 4000 mAh battery will provide ample juice. The Korean company applies the in-house touch-wiz technology to give you a better touch-sensitive experience.

The pricing of the Galaxy has not been leaked yet, but I predict a slightly lower price-point than the iPad.
