Two new Timex x Todd Snyder watches are now live, and they are direct tributes to the '60s Marlin, featuring a compact 34mm case and domed acrylic crystal. The collaboration includes two variants: one in black stainless steel with a black natural leather strap, and one in gold-tone with an olive green strap, both with metallic numeral markers in classic serif font and sunray-finished dials.
Todd Snyder, established in 2011, is well-known for its practical and accessible menswear. Timex first teamed with Snyder in 2016 - the previous collaborations covering the MOD, Mk1, Mid Century, and colorblock models - each with its own archival Timex design. These limited releases have often sold out, which appears to be the case for the olive green-variant as well. The dials of the new watches have applied Breguet-style numerals, just like early 20th-century pocket watches, and dauphine hands matching the case color for a neat, antique look.
Powered by a quartz movement, the watch comes with reliable hour, minute, and central seconds functions, along with water resistance up to 30 meters. The lug width measures 18mm, which complements the modest proportions of the watch quite well. Priced at $149, both versions are relatively affordable and come with unnecessary complications.
This release is directly tied to Todd Snyder’s Dylan suede trucker jacket, one of his signature pieces, with strap and dial colors matching the jacket’s popular black and olive variants. Both watches are currently available for purchase but excluded from promotions.
