It has been a little over four months since Sony showed off PlayStation games at State of Play. Industry insider NateTheHate says one could be coming up soon. While there's no information about what Sony has lined up for us, a seemingly unrelated incident may have spoiled it. Alongside Ghost of Yotei and Death Stranding 2, we could finally see a beloved FromSoftware game make an appearance.
Lance McDonald, a prolific modder, received a DMCA strike for a four-year-old project of his: an unofficial 60 FPS patch for Bloodborne. It had stayed up for a while and is even an integral part of the unofficial ShadPS4 Bloodborne PC port. The project has made remarkable progress since its inception. While some problems remain, you can finally finish the entire game with minimal glitches at a much better quality than the PS4.
Nevertheless, Sony may have sprung into action because it has something Bloodborne-related lined up. Plus, the game's tenth anniversary happens to be on March 25, making it an ideal release date for a remake/remaster/official PC port to drop. Now, it is entirely plausible Sony just didn't bother about Lance's patch until now and finally decided to do something about it out of the blue. The running theory is that Bloodborne will be a PlayStation 6 launch title, like Demon's Souls before it.
