Philips Hue has issued a new update for the Secure Camera range. This is the second release for these smart home devices in 2025, following a March update. The earlier firmware was said to enhance battery performance for some devices and made PIR cooldown settings more user-friendly.
The new Secure Cameras version 1.2.32.976150 brings further improvements for battery-powered devices like the Secure Battery Camera (curr. $159.99 at Amazon). Firstly, the number of accidental camera activations has been reduced; fewer wake-ups should allow the camera to run for longer. There is an improvement in the way in which the Wi-Fi chip enters sleep mode after a channel change to improve battery efficiency. Plus, a bug which caused some battery cameras to stop reporting events has been resolved.
Secure Cameras 1.2.32.976150 update began rolling out to users at the start of May, so it is likely that it is now available to all users. The update should be pushed to eligible devices automatically. You can check that you have enabled these updates in the Philips Hue app by going to Settings > Software update > Automatic update.
