Motorola has lifted the lid on the Edge 30 Ultra, its latest flagship smartphone. Equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset and a 144 Hz pOLED display, the Edge 30 Ultra can also fully replenish its large battery in just 22 minutes, thanks to 125 W fast charging. The Edge 30 Ultra has a 200 MP primary camera with OIS too, among other features.

Motorola has finally announced the Edge 30 Ultra, the global version of the Moto X30 Pro. Unsurprisingly, the former features the latter's hardware, including its Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset, which also powers the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 and Xiaomi 12S Ultra, among other smartphones. Currently, the Edge 30 Ultra is Motorola's only smartphone with the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 that it sells globally.

At the heart of the Edge 30 Ultra is a 6.7-inch pOLED display, within which Motorola has included a punch hole for the device's front-facing camera. As expected, the display operates at 2,400 x 1,080 pixels with a 394 PPI pixel density and a 20:9 'Max Vision' aspect ratio. Like other recent Motorola flagships, the Edge 30 Ultra's also offers a 144 Hz refresh rate, plus HDR10 support.

Additionally, the Edge 30 Ultra is the first smartphone to launch globally with the Samsung ISOCELL HP1, a 200 MP camera with a 1/1.22-inch optical format, an f/1.9 aperture and optical image stabilisation. Furthermore, the device has a 50 MP ultra-wide-angle camera, a 12 MP telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom and a 60 MP front-facing sensor that supports 4-in-1 pixel binning. According to Motorola, the smartphone can capture videos with its primary camera in up to 8K at 30 FPS, or 960 FPS if you drop the resolution to 1080p. All cameras can shoot in 4K at 60 FPS too.

Separately, Motorola alleges that its 125 W TurboPower technology can provide up to 50% charge to the device's 4,610 mAh battery in 9 minutes and should fully recharge the handset in 22 minutes. Incidentally, the Edge 30 Ultra also supports 50 W wireless charging and can reverse wirelessly charge another device at up to 10 W. Moreover, the 161.76 x 73.5 x 8.39 mm and 198.5 g device comes with IP52 certification, Android 12 and the promise of two OS updates with a third year of security updates. Hence, the Edge 30 Ultra will receive up to Android 14.

The Edge 30 Ultra will be available with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of non-expandable storage. The device does come with Dual SIM connectivity though, via twin Nano SIM card slots. Motorola will begin selling the Edge 30 Ultra in the Eurozone from today. To be available in Interstellar Black and Starlight White, all models will retail for €899.99.
