MagyarXiaomi 12S Ultra - The bokeh effect of the camera smartphone is sensational
The Snapdragon 8+ Gen. 1 in the Xiaomi 12S Ultra ensures top system performance in everyday use, almost without lags, and very good runtimes in view of the installed hardware. In our CPU benchmark results, the Xiaomi 12S Ultra even manages to outperform the Asus ROG Phone 6 Pro.
The highlight of the Xiaomi 12S Ultra is the camera module on the back, which houses a 50-megapixel sensor in a 1-inch format and was co-developed by Leica. Hardly any other current high-end smartphone offers such a large image sensor. From a purely technical point of view, even a Sony Xperia Pro-I only uses a part of the IMX 383, which also measures 1 inch.
The Sony IMX989 in the Xiaomi 12S Ultra offers very nice image sharpness and strong dynamics in bright light. Due to the 1-inch sensor, backgrounds are usually blurred even in photo mode, so that portrait mode is actually rendered obsolete. Compared to a Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3, with its rather "normal" sized image sensor (1/1.76") for a smartphone, the bokeh differences are clearly visible. Even in the case of less clear distinction from the background (as in the photo of the toy kitten), the Xiaomi smartphone generates a very nice blur effect.
