The ThinkPad P16s Gen 4 and ThinkPad P14s are now official. Both come with AMD Ryzen AI Pro 300 series CPUs, support up to 96 GB of DDR5 RAM and come with optional 5G connectivity.

Lenovo has shown off a bunch of new enterprise-centric ThinkPads today. The ThinkPad P16s Gen 4 and ThinkPad P14s Gen 6 come with a Pro version of AMD's Strix Point-based Ryzen 300 CPUs. This supplements the ThinkPad L series unveiled today with Intel Core Ultra 200 chips. And yes, both models come with the quintessential red nipple on the keyboard.

The ThinkPad P16s Gen 4 and ThinkPad P14s Gen 6 can be configured with up to an AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX Pro 370 CPU, 96 GB DDR5-5600 RAM, and a 2 TB PCIe Gen 4 NVMe SSD. For OS, you can pick between Windows 11 Pro, Ubuntu, Red Hat Enterprise and Fedora. The main difference between the two machines lies in their screens.

The ThinkPad P16s Gen 4 comes with a 16-inch 16:10 panel. Lenovo lets you pick between two configurations. The first one is WQUXGA OLED (3,840 x 2,800), 400 nits peak brightness, 100% DCI-P3 colour gamut coverage, and an anti-reflective coating. And the second one is WUXGA (1,920 x 1,200) IPS LCD, 500 nits, 100% sRGB. An alternate configuration offers an LCD panel with 400 nits peak brightness, with the option to add touch functionality.

The ThinkPad P14s Gen 6 offers similar configurations with the same OLED screen in 2.8K (2,880 x 1,800) resolution and WUXGA (1,920 x 1,200) for LCD. The latter is available in touch and non-touch variants. All other specs, such as peak brightness and colour gamut coverage, are the same as the 16-incher. Lenovo includes a 5 MP RGB webcam and a supporting IR sensor with both laptops. It comes with a physical privacy shutter and human presence detection.

For I/O, the ThinkPad P16s Gen 4 and ThinkPad P14s offer two USB 4.0 ports (misrepresented as Thunderbolt 4.0 in the spec sheet), two 5 Gbps USB-A ports, an HDMI 2.1 port, RJ45 Ethernet, 3.5 mm audio jack and a smart card reader. Wireless connectivity options include Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.3. A nano-SIM card can be optionally added to enable 5G or 4G LTE connections.

The Lenovo ThinkPad P16s Gen 4 can be bought in May 2025 starting at $1,619. The ThinkPad P14s Gen 6 goes for $1,579 and will launch at the same time.
