The Go Ultra is shaping up to be Insta360's second release of the month after it introduced the X5 Satin White Limited Edition (curr. $549 on Amazon) almost a fortnight ago. For the time being, the company is remaining rather coy about what it has in store for August 21.
However, it is evident from what Insta360 has shown so far that it will only be unveiling the Go Ultra on Thursday. In the meantime, leaker Igor Bogdanov already suggests that he has obtained pricing information ahead of the camera's full launch.
Supposedly, the Go Ultra will arrive for between $420 and $470. While Bogdanov has not shared a specific price, he considers the range offered 'not bad' in their opinion, presumably in view of what rivals like GoPro and DJI are already or will soon be selling.
Taking $445 as the mid-point would result in a 13% uplift from last year's Go 3S, though. To justify any price increase, Insta360 is rumoured to have equipped the Go Ultra with a new 1/1.28-inch camera sensor capable of shooting at 4K/60 FPS with a 180 Mbps bitrate thanks to a 5 nm chipset.
