IO Hawk Nine e-scooter arrives with dual motor option and 77 km range
The IO HAWK Nine e-scooter has launched in the EU. You can choose a single 500W or dual 250W motor for all-wheel drive. The speed can be controlled via finger throttle and three-speed modes. There is also the option to choose between top speeds limited to 20 kph (~12 mph) or 25 kph (~16 mph) to suit the laws in your country.
Depending on your choice of motor, the IO Hawk Nine comes with disc or hydraulic brakes. The new model has up to 77 km (~47.8 miles) of range with dual charging ports to reduce the recharge time to three hours. The e-scooter also has front and rear Spring-R suspension and 8.5 x 3-in tires. You can use the handlebar-mounted LCD to view your speed and remaining battery level, plus an NFC key lock system helps protect against theft. Other features include a bell, 80 lux headlight, rear lights and indicators.
The scooter weighs 24 kg (~53 lbs), measuring 122 x 69 x 121 cm (~48 x 27 x 48-in) or 122 x 23 x 49 cm (~48 x 9 x 19-in) when folded. You can now buy the IO Hawk Nine e-scooter in the EU for the discounted price of €1,149 (~US$1,247); the model will retail for €1,349 (~US$1,465) when this offer ends. IO has yet to clarify whether or when it will launch its product in other markets.
