Huawei has announced the Pura 80 Pro+ and Pura 80 Ultra in China. The latter comes with a dual-lens telephoto camera that can offer 3.7x and 9.4x optical zoom on the same sensor.

Huawei has shown off two high-end smartphones: the Pura 80 Pro+ and Pura 80 Ultra. Both come with top-of-the-line specs and interesting camera innovations not regularly seen on other smartphones. For now, they are limited to China, but a global release should follow suit soon.

The Pura 80 Pro+ and Pura 80 Ultra come with a 6.8-inch FHD+ (2,848 × 1,276) LTPO 2.0 Tandem OLED panel with a refresh rate of 1-120 Hz and 461 PPI Pixel density. Additionally, memory and storage on both smartphones max out at 16 GB and 1 TB, respectively. Similarly, both draw power from a 5,700 mAh battery that supports 100 Watt wired fast charging and 80 Watt wireless charging.

As is the case with previous devices, the Pura 80 Ultra comes with the most powerful camera of the lot. It has a 50 MP wide-angle lens (1-inch sensor), a 50 MP 'super' telephoto lens that can alternate between 3.7x and 9.4x optical zoom on the same sensor via a motorized mechanism, a 40 MP ultra-wide-angle lens and a 12.5 MP temperature sensor. It is worth noting the resolution drops to 12.5 MP at 9.4x optical zoom.

Huawei continues to remain tight-lipped about the SoC powering its smartphones, with nothing mentioned on its official spec sheet. However, hands-on images of both devices (H/T @faridofanani96 on X) confirm they're running a Kirin 9020 found on the Huawei Mate X6.

The Huawei Pura 80 Pro+ has the same 50 MP wide-angle lens, but replaces the telephoto sensor with a 48 MP module with 4.0x optical zoom. Lastly, the 40 MP ultra-wide-angle lens remains identical across both devices, as does the 13 MP front-facing camera. The Pura 80 Pro+ does not include a temperature sensor.

Connectivity options on the Huawei Pura 80 Pro+ and Huawei Pura 80 Ultra include Bluetooth 5.2, 802.11 b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi, a USB 3.1 Type-C port and NFC. Satellite connectivity is also enabled on both models. They run Huawei's self-developed HarmonyOS 5.0 and come with IP68 and IP69 ratings.

The Pura 80 Pro+ costs RMB 7,999 ($1,112) and 8,999 ($1,253) in China. Similarly, the Pura 80 Ultra will set you back by RMB 9,999 ($1,391) and 10,999 ($1,530) for the 512 GB and 1 TB storage variant, respectively.
