Honor has expanded its Magic7 series portfolio by launching a new Magic7 Lite smartphone in Europe. The mid-range smartphone comes as a successor to the Magic6 Lite, which debuted in December 2023. Compared to the last generation model, the Magic7 Lite hasn’t received any major upgrades except the battery. It still uses the same design, processor, and camera hardware.
First, let’s talk about its battery. According to Honor’s press release, the company packs an industry-first 6,600 mAh silicon-carbon battery into the Magic7 Lite smartphone that supports 66 W wired charging. This is a significant boost from the Magic6 Lite’s 5,300 mAh battery. The battery also comes with an armor-level protective coating, and the company claims that it can handle extreme temperatures from -30 °C (-22 °F) to 55 °C (131 °F).
The 5G-enabled smartphone features the same processor as its predecessor. A Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 chipset sits at the heart of the device, which Honor paired with 8/12 GB of RAM and 256/512 GB of storage with no room for storage expansion. It runs Android 14-based MagicOS 8.0 out of the box, and there’s no word on software support from the brand.
For optics, the handset features a dual rear camera setup consisting of a 108 MP primary camera with OIS support and a 5 MP ultrawide camera. There’s a 16 MP shooter on the front for selfies and video chats. The Magic7 Lite features a 6.78-inch curved AMOLED display with a resolution of 2700 x 1224 pixels, a peak brightness of 4000 nits, and a refresh rate of 120 Hz.
Dimensionally, the handset measures 162.8 x 75.5 x 7.98 mm (LWD) (6.40 x 2.97 x 0.31 inches) and weighs 189 grams (0.41 lbs). It does have an IP64 water and dust resistance rating and comes in Titanium Purple and Titanium Black colorways.
The Honor Magic7 Lite starts at £399 (~$495/€479) for the 8 GB + 512 GB model. The smartphone will be available to purchase on 15th January 2025 in the UK via EE, Virgin Media 02, Three, Vodafone, Argos, Very, and Currys. Head over to the official product page for more information.
