Honor's vanilla X-series flagship has been equipped with potentially underwhelming 35W wired charging since the release of the X50 (also known as the X9b in India) in 2023 - however, that spec is now finally predicted to become a thing of the past this year.
The X70 is now thought to be announced with much faster 80W charging - for its supposedly much larger battery, moreover.
The smartphone might have a "thin and light" form-factor despite its powerful upgrades, which might also integrate the OLED display missing from its 2024 predecessor. At 6.79 inches in diagonal length (as opposed to 6.8 inches in the X60 and 6.78 inches in the X50), it seems it will be full-sized rather than compact.
Those changes might make it hard for the X70 to stay in the ~$200 tier of the Android smartphone market this year - although the prodigious leaker Digital Chat Station does hint at internal spec choices that could be most charitably described as 'power-efficient': an iteration of the MediaTek Dimensity 7025 Ultra might be the best to hope for here.
That could keep the Honor X70's starting price appealing on its launch, now apparently provisionally scheduled for July 2025 in colorways to be known as Bamboo Blue, Moon Shadow White and Phantom Night Black.
