Samsung is gearing up to unveil its next generation foldables, the Galaxy Z Fold7 and the Z Flip7, in July. Ahead of the launch, a new leak suggests that the pricing for the phones will remain unchanged, at least for the US, though some other markets may see a price increase. Notably, Samsung increased the pricing for the foldables last year so it’s good that there isn’t another increase planned for this year.
Leaker PandaFlashPro on X shared back in January that pricing for the upcoming Samsung foldables will remain the same in most markets. Now, the leaker claims to have confirmed the information, stating that most markets will keep the same price. He mentions $1,899 and $1,099 price tags suggesting that the US pricing will remain the same. However, some other markets will not be as fortunate but it is unclear which ones.
For reference, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5 launched at $1,799 and the Z Flip5 launched at $999. The current gen Z Fold6 and Z Flip6 came with a $100 price increase starting at $1,899 and $1,099 respectively.
The Galaxy Z Fold7 and the Z Flip7 have been subject to a lot of leaks and rumors. It is believed that the Z Flip7 will feature an Exynos SoC in the US and that it will have a slightly larger battery than the current gen Z Flip6 (Buy on Amazon). The Galaxy Z Fold7, on the other hand, is said to carry the Snapdragon 8 Elite and retain the same battery capacity as the Galaxy Z Fold6 (Buy on Amazon).
Earlier in May, it was reported that the Galaxy Z Fold7 will come with a titanium backplate between its hinge mechanism and inner display. This backplate will be thinner than the carbon fibre (CFRP) equivalents present in the Galaxy Z Fold6. It is also believed that the phone will be slimmer than the previous generation, but not as slim as the Oppo Find N5.
