Are you eagerly awaiting the next XPS 15? Well, Dell has confirmed yet more details about the upcoming laptop, including what CPUs it will feature along with its maximum RAM and SSD capacities.

Dell is still keeping its next XPS 15 under wraps, but it is slowly fleshing out information about what hardware it will feature. Previously, we reported that the laptop will have a webcam in its top display bezel like the XPS 13 9380, rather than the "nosecam" that previous iterations of the XPS 15 have sported. Moreover, the company confirmed that it would be equipping the device with 9th generation Intel Core CPUs and the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 GPU.

Now, Frank Azor has revealed on Twitter that the next XPS 15 will "have the latest and greatest CPUs available in H configurations at that time". We would recommend tempering your excitement here though about the device featuring some currently unannounced processor, as a leaked Intel roadmap suggests that the chip manufacturer has no plans to release a new Core H series before next year. Instead, this all but confirms that the upcoming XPS 15 will feature Coffee Lake-based 9th generation Core H processors, so expect to see models powered by the Core i5-9300H, Core i7-9750H or Core i9-9980HK. We doubt that Dell will offer a broader selection of CPUs because it only offers a choice between three 8th generation Core H series processors with the XPS 15 9570. Disappointingly, the Core i7-9750H only delivered modest performance improvements over its predecessor in our recent ASUS ROG Zephyrus S GX502GW review.

Finally, Azor has also confirmed that the next XPS 15 will come with up to 64 GB of RAM and a 2 TB SSD. The latter can already be configured on the XPS 15 9570, but Dell currently only sells the device with a maximum of 32 GB RAM.

We would be surprised if Dell does not announce something XPS 15 related at Computex 2019 in Taipei next week, considering that it launched the XPS 15 9550 there in 2015. Tantalisingly, Azor has hinted that he would reveal in 6 days when either the next XPS 15, XPS 13 2 in 1, an Alienware car or an Alienware 55" OLED display would be released. You can vote on which device you would like him to reveal here. The timing of the announcement would coincide perfectly with the start of Computex. Based on the information that he and Dell have confirmed so far, it seems as though the next XPS 15 will be a minor refresh of the XPS 15 9570.
