Shadow of the Tomb Raider has only been on the shelves for a few weeks and Square Enix has already announced a new DLC adventure for Lara Croft. The Forge is scheduled for release on November 13 and will be available for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. A standalone purchase of the DLC will cost US$4.99.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider was released on 14 September, and it seems the developers at Eidos Montréal haven’t been resting on their laurels in the meantime. A new downloadable content adventure will soon be available, just in time for those who have already managed to raid their way through the tombs and temples of Paititi.

The Forge, which is the first of seven planned DLC expansions for Shadow of the Tomb Raider, will bring the option of solo or co-op play in the setting of a brand-new tomb. Lara will find herself avoiding lava and no doubt navigating safely through an abundance of fiery traps to reach her goal. Players who succeed in completing the challenge of The Forge will receive rewards in the forms of a weapon, outfit, and handy new skill for the intrepid adventurer.

Season pass holders will be able to download the new content for free on their platform of choice on November 13. Gamers who haven’t purchased a pass can get access to the new challenge for US$4.99 or stump up the cash for a season pass (US$29.99) and get the numerous future DLC packs for free. Shadow of the Tomb Raider has received generally positive reviews and has been praised for its attractive visuals and compelling narrative.
