Casio has been going at it with somewhat 'modular' watches this year. First, the company unveiled the DW-6900-ASRV24A-1CR collab timepiece with interchangeable swaps last month, and now, there is a new similar collaboration under its G-Shock lineup. The company is teaming up with Los Angeles-based streetwear brand, 'Undefeated', for the DWE-5600UD-1. The collab has a military camouflage theme, multiple strap options, and a minimalist, stealthy aesthetic.
What'll definitely stand out for this release is the inclusion of three interchangeable resin straps. The watch itself comes in a matte black finish with an Undefeated logo subtly etched on the bezel, which is paired with a green-tinted LCD screen. Alongside the default black strap, Casio is offering two additional camo-printed straps—one in classic woodland camo and another in desert camo.
The packaging follows the same military theme, with a brown camo-printed box that features both Casio G-Shock and Undefeated branding. Since this is based on the DWE-5600 series, it carries over the same shock-resistant Carbon Core Guard construction, 200-meter water resistance, and a modular design that allows easy swapping of parts. Functionally, it retains G-Shock staples like:
- Electroluminescent backlight (red glow)
- 1/100-second stopwatch
- Countdown timer
- Multi-function alarm
According to early reports, the G-Shock DWE-5600UD-1 will be priced at $230 USD in the US and is expected to launch in February 2025. Since G-Shock collaborations often sell out quickly, this one should also be a hit among both collectors and streetwear fans. Only time will tell if it holds long-term appeal beyond its design gimmick. For now, the watch remains listed solely on Casio's Mexico website, priced at 6,449 Mexican Pesos.
