Earlier in January 2025, we reported on the Seiko G757-inspired Casio Vintage A130WE-1AEF. The watch had a stainless-steel finish and a multifunctional digital display. As per brand-new reports, it turns out that A130WE-1AEF is a part of a 4-watch series that is seemingly scheduled for February 2025, contrary to our earlier reporting which cited March 2025 as the release month. The four models are A130WE-1A, A130WE-7A, A130WEG-9A, A130WEGG-1A.
The A130 series adopts a retro-futuristic design. It clearly draws inspiration from LCD digital-analog hybrid watches from the 1980s. The dial has multiple sections, including a large LCD screen for timekeeping, an analog-like graphical display on the upper left for home time, and a smaller segment on the right for additional functions. As expected, Casio has also included an LED backlight.
The watches measure 40.5 x 33.9 x 9 mm and have a weight of 54g, making them compact and relatively lightweight. The case is made of resin, while the bezel is also crafted from resin material. The watches are paired with stainless-steel bracelets featuring a free-adjustment clasp.
In terms of features, the A130 series retains the functionality of previous Casio digital watches, including world time with 48 cities, multi-time zone support, a stopwatch with split timing, a countdown timer, five alarms, and a full-auto calendar. The display also supports 12/24-hour format switching and an LED backlight with selectable duration (1.5s or 3s). The models run on a CR2016 battery with an estimated lifespan of three years.
The A130WE-1A and A130WE-7A come in standard silver-tone finishes, while the A130WEG-9A adopts a more gold-tone plating. The A130WEGG-1A is finished in gunmetal, which lends an overall darker aesthetic to the design. The two premium models, the A130WEG-9A and A130WEGG-1A, are priced slightly higher at ¥11,000 (~$71), while the standard models are listed at ¥8,800 (~$57).
Casio has labeled these watches as "waterproof for daily use", meaning they offer basic splash resistance but are not suited for deep-sea submersion, unlike this hydro-modded Casio F91W. As mentioned earlier, a February 2025 release is on the cards, but the watches can already be reserved from the official product pages (linked below).
