The Casio Marine Sports MTD-140 watches have been unveiled. The range includes five models: the MTD-140-2AV, the MTD-140-3AV, the MTD-140D-1AV, the MTD-140D-2AV and the MTD-140D-3AV.
The Casio MTD-140 watches have a stainless steel casing and weigh 75 g (~2.6 oz). The MTD-140-2AV has a blue watch face, while the MTD-140-3AV’s face is green, both accompanied by a black resin strap. The Casio MTD-140D watches also have a stainless steel casing and bezel, though they offer a stainless steel strap, making them heavier at 138 g (~4.9 oz). Again, they have different watch face colors: the MTD-140D-1AV is black, the MTD-140D-2AV is blue, and the MTD-140D-2AV is green.
All models show the day of the month and have three analog hands, with the time said to be accurate to within 20 seconds each month. Plus, they all measure 48.4 × 43.7 × 9.5 mm (~1.9 x 1.7 x 0.4 inches), offer 100 m water resistance and are expected to run for around three years on an SR920SW battery.
On the Casio International website, the Marine Sports MTD-140 and MTD-140D watches are tipped for a May release. However, it remains to be seen precisely when these Casio products will go on sale, in which markets they will launch and how much they will cost. In the meantime, you could consider an older model like the Casio MDV-160DD-1A1, which has an $89.95 RRP but is currently available at Amazon for $64.95.
