Looking at the Acer site I see they do SSD versions as well as Hard Disc and this would improve greatly the bootup time. As a business machine security is high on the agenda and from the software included this is well catered for. The stated battery life of ‘up to 8 hours’ should be possible with the oversized battery that I was sent.

If you're looking for a companion with stamina for the road while on business, the Acer TravelMate P6 will be a good fit. It's compact and durable with a decent specification that lets it run fast. Most importantly, though, it offers an amazingly long battery life.

After recently reviewing a couple of light offerings that had SSD to give rapid booting, its back to a larger business notebook but as its high end you lose that horrible shiny black screen surround that shows all the fingermarks. The only thing I noticed was the slower boot up simply because of the two units I previously reviewed were SSD or SSD helped units. When I use my own notebook this unit seems extremely fast so everything is relative.

81% Review Acer TravelMate P645-MG-9419 Ultrabook | Notebookcheck
Ultra-TravelMate. Acer updates their venerable TravelMate-series and adds a 14-inch business Ultrabook to the lineup. Is the 14-inch Haswell-equipped P645 with its dedicated Radeon graphics card and generously-sized SSD a compelling alternative to the established competition?
A budget business laptop with extra security
Source: Techradar English
The Acer TravelMate P645 is a fine budget option for business users. If any configuration of this notebook falls within your (or your company's) price range, there's no significant reason against choosing the TravelMate over its pricier competition. If you can enjoy its quality feel and reassuring security features, while ignoring its slightly irritating flaws, you'll have a solid tool on your hands. Otherwise (i.e. if you have the cash to spend), look to this laptop's more expensive rivals.

The Acer TravelMate TMP645-MG-9419 is good choice if you need a speedy business ultrabook for tasks like Excel spreadsheet recalculations, database work, and moderate photo and video editing. That said, the Dell Latitude e7440 Touch retains our Editors' Choice since it's a better ultrabook for large organizations and general business users thanks to its rugged construction, removable battery, touch screen, and dual pointing devices.

60% Acer Travelmate Pro (TMP645-MG-9419) review: This mild-mannered case conceals a powerful laptop
Source: PC World English
At $1300, this Travelmate Pro is quite a nice piece of hardware, and it’s significantly less expensive than much of its business-oriented competition. But the lack of a 5-year warranty, its shortish lifespan, and niggling details like different-gauge screws will irk the corporate element of its intended audience. The favorable price-to-performance ratio make it a go for independent business users, but for corporate fleets? Probably not.

Acer’s new TravelMate does many things right. The chassis is well built and functional, the hardware is extremely quick, the battery seemingly lasts forever and the MSRP is reasonable. All of these factors should add up to the best business Ultrabook available today.

78% Does what it claims to do very well indeed
Source: Think Digit English
The laptop sports great battery life lasting over 4 hours on benchmark test, which is indicative of up to 7-8 hours of real-world usage. The only downer was the laptop’s keyboard which had keys with very short travel, making fast typing a bit difficult. But we are truly nitpicking here. If you want a thin, ultraportable business laptop that looks fine and performs admirably, the Acer Travelmate P645 is worth considering.

Acer's TravelMate P645 is among the company's best laptops. It's a 14in Ultrabook with good style, a solid build, long battery life, and plenty of features. It could use more storage capacity, and its touchpad driver is quirky, but overall it's a useful and affordable laptop (depending on the configuration you choose).

Modern games should be playable with these graphics cards at low settings and resolutions. Casual gamers may be happy with these cards.

Intel HD Graphics 4000: Processor graphics card in the high end Ivy Bridge models. Offers a different clock speed in the different CPU models (ULV to desktop quad core) and therefore a different performance.

Intel HD Graphics 4400:

ULV integrated GPU (GT2) with 20 EUs found on certain Haswell CPU models.

With these GPUs you are able to play modern and demanding games fluently at medium detail settings and HD resolution.

AMD Radeon HD 8750M: Mid-range graphics card based on the GCN architecture.

» Further information can be found in our Comparison of Mobile Graphics Cards and the corresponding Benchmark List.

Intel Core i7: The Intel Core i7 for laptops is based on the LG1156 Core i5/i7 CPU for desktops. The base clock speed of the CPUs is relatively low, but because of a huge Turbo mode, the cores can dynamically overclock to up to 3.2 GHz (920XM). Therefore, the CPU can be as fast as high clocked dual-core CPUs (using single threaded applications) but still offer the advantage of 4 cores. Because of the large TDP of 45 W / 55 W, the CPU is only intended for large laptops.

3520M: Fastest Ivy-Bridge-based Dual-Core, 2,9 - 3,6 GHz core clock

4500U:

Haswell-based ULV dual-core processor clocked at 1.8 GHz with Turbo Boost support up to 3.0 GHz. Offers an integrated HD Graphics 4400 and a dual-channel DDR3 memory controller.

Intel Core i5:

3210M: Fast Ivy-Bridge-based dual-core, includes HD 4000 GPU, core clock 2.5 - 3.1 GHz

4200U:

Haswell-based ULV dual-core processor clocked at 1.6 GHz with Turbo Boost support up to 2.6 GHz. Offers an integrated HD Graphics 4400 and a dual-channel DDR3 memory controller.

13.3: This is a common display format for subnotebooks. Netbooks, UMPC and some subnotebooks have tinier displays. Nevertheless, the majority of standard laptops has a higher format. The advantage of a small display is, that the subnotebook can be small dimensioned and can be carried easily. Further the small display needs few energy, which improves the battery runtime and in consequence the mobility. The disadvantage is that the reading of texts is a bit exhausting for the eyes, especially with high resolutions.

14.0: 14 inch display size is a mixture between the small formats of subnotebooks and the 15 inch standard display. The reason why so many people like displays with medium size is, that this size is not exhausting for the eyes, does not need too much energy and the laptops can be kept quite compact.

15.6: 15 inch display-variants are the standard and are used for more than the half of all notebooks. 15.4 inch display with 16:10 are the standard for notebook displays. However nowadays, more and more 16:9 displays with 15.6 inch appear. The reason why so many people like displays with medium size is, that this size is not exhausting for the eyes, does not need too much energy and the laptops can be kept quite compact.

» To find out how fine a display is, see our DPI List.

1.5 kg:

This sub-notebook weighs less than the average of all notebooks and represents a medium class of weight among the sub-notebooks. 11 inch displays are normal for this class of weight.

1.9 kg:

These sub-notebooks weight less than the average of all notebooks, but represent a heavier class of weight among the sub-notebooks. 12 inch displays are normal for this class of weight.

76.13%: This rating is not convincing. The laptop is evaluated below average, this is not really a recommendation for purchase.
