The ThinkPad X1 Carbon G11 is only a small update with a current Intel Raptor Lake processor that barely offers additional power plus the standard built-in, low-power display is getting on a bit now. So, is the high price justified?

At first, I wanted to compare the Lenovo device with something else, but then I realized that, for the most part, these would be the same ThinkPad series ultrabooks, just with different orientations or from different generations. One could mention the HP EliteBook 1000 series, HP Spectre, or Dell XPS, but they have slightly different focuses. Therefore, we won’t delve into discussing competitors. The new Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 11 once again reaffirms its belonging to the rather exclusive group of premium-class devices. It has almost everything that a device from this segment needs. There’s an elegant chassis representing a sturdy and lightweight construction made of high-quality materials, a recognizable design, and a top-notch display with a powerful 13th-generation processor in the top configuration. Add to this a wide range of security and connectivity options and a long-lasting battery. The ultrabook has finally received a worthy audio system, which has been notably absent from devices in this segment.

The ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 11 is a stylish, high-quality 14-inch laptop that's comfortable to use and easy to take to meetings. It fully meets the expectations of a modern compact ThinkPad, including durable materials and a good performance margin. Despite these positive impressions, the price of the model is traditionally very high, and even higher for versions with an OLED display and higher resolution.

The under 2.5 lbs. business premium laptop is refreshed with Intel 13th gen processors and it has the usual magnesium and carbon fiber casing and chassis. There are quite a few display options including matte IPS touch screens and a 2.8K OLED screen, a full HD webcam with Windows Hello, Thunderbolt 4, and useful legacy ports like USB-A and HDMI.
