AOOSTAR GEM12 gaming mini PC with AMD Ryzen 9 and OCuLink starts at $339
AOOSTAR recently launched the GEM12 Pro in the Chinese market. A built-in screen and fingerprint reader were among the main highlights of that mini PC. Now, the company has made the non-Pro version available in the global market. It comes with similar internals to the Pro but doesn’t have a built-in screen or a fingerprint scanner.
Speaking of the hardware, the AOOSTAR GEM12 can be purchased in three different configurations. The cheapest option comes with AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX, and the barebones version costs $339. Then there’s the middle of the line with Ryzen 7 7840HS, and its barebones is $429.
The last configuration of the gaming mini PC packs the latest AMD Ryzen 7 8845HS, and its barebones cost $469. All the configurations of the GEM12 can be purchased with up to 32 GB of DDR5 RAM and 1 TB of PCIe 4.0 storage with additional costs. They also offer further upgradability with support for up to 64 GB of RAM (Crucial 5600 MHz kit curr. $189.99 on Amazon) and two M.2 slots.
Moreover, all three models of the mini PC have three BIOS modes. That includes a Silent mode topping at 54W, Balanced at 65W, and Performance at 75W TDP. Every GEM12 model also has an OCuLink port, allowing you to hook up an external graphics dock and get a much better gaming performance than the iGPU.
As for I/O, the AOOSTAR GEM12 has a generous selection of ports. Among all, it has one 40 Gbps USB4, two USB-A 3.2 Gen 2, one USB-C, and two 2.5 GbE LAN ports. For wireless connectivity, there’s Bluetooth 5.2 and WiFi 6.
Other highlights of the mini PC include support for up to four displays, a reasonably compact chassis, and a robust cooling setup with a vapor chamber. Check out the images and video attached below to learn more about the AOOSTAR GEM12.
