The Nintendo Switch receives new features with V11.0.0 OS update
Nintendo has begun distributing an OS update for the Switch. Called V11.0.0, the update should be arriving automatically on consoles. However, one can also trigger the update manually if it has not already appeared. V11.0.0 is more than just a perfunctory update for the Nintendo Switch, too.
According to the official changelog, Nintendo has added a dedicated Switch Online app that combines all the features of the service into one place. Subscribers can, for example, check their subscription status, or sync games saves across multiple Switch consoles. Game saves should be synced automatically across consoles as of V11.0.0, incidentally. Additionally, screenshots and videos can now be transferred to a smartphone via a QR code or a USB connection.
Moreover, Nintendo has added the ability to prioritise a download when multiple are in progress. There is also an option for naming preset button mappings and a new 'Trending' page that shows what games your friends are currently playing.
