reMarkable has expanded the capabilities of the reMarkable 2, its E-ink tablet. For reference, the reMarkable 2 weighs 403 g and is 4.7 mm thick, which makes it lighter than most conventional tablets. Additionally, the tablet has a 10.3-inch panel with stylus support that resolves at 1,872 x 1,404 pixels.
Now, reMarkable has released the Type Folio, a keyboard accessory that comes in two colours. Previously, it was not possible to connect a keyboard to the reMarkable 2 other than with a pogo pin to USB connector, unlike the original reMarkable. According to the company, the Type Folio offers almost full-sized letter keys. However, reMarkable has shortened all keys to the left and right of the letter keys, such as left and right shift.
Moreover, the reMarkable 2 secures itself against the Type Folio with magnets and pogo pins, which negates the need to charge the latter separately. It is also worth noting that the Type Folio is 6.6 mm thick and weighs 453 g. Thus, the total carry weight of the reMarkable 2 and Type Folio is 856 g, while the pair are 11.3 mm thick. At launch, reMarkable sells the Type Folio for £179, with the reMarkable 2 itself priced at £279. Please see the company's website for more details.
