Xiaomi Duokan Pro II: E-reader launches outside China with Android 11 pre-installed

Good e-Reader has started stocking the Xiaomi Duokan Pro II, nearly a year after Xiaomi released the E-reader in China. To recap, the Duokan Pro II has a 7.8-inch E-Ink display that resolves at 1,872 x 1,404 pixels with a 300 PPI pixel density. Sitting within a relatively thick bezels, the display also has a built-in backlight that that can be adjusted in 24 stages to minimise glare in low-light conditions.

Additionally, the Duokan Pro II weighs 250 g and is 7 mm thick, despite its 3,200 mAh battery. Xiaomi claims that the E-reader will deliver up to 6 weeks of standby time, in part thanks to its energy efficient display. The inclusion of a Rockchip RK3566 SoC will help, which Xiaomi has complemented with 32 GB of storage and 2 GB of RAM. For reference, the Duokan Pro II runs a customised version of Android 11 out of the box.

The Duokan Pro II is orderable now for US$299.99 from the Good e-Reader. While that may seem like a lot for a small E-reader, Xiaomi sells the same model in China for CNY 1,299 (~US$188).
