iQoo 16: Next-gen flagship leak details triple 50MP cameras

The iQoo 16 is expected to launch later this year as the company's next flagship smartphone, succeeding the iQoo 15. The device has already appeared in several leaks, indicating that it may be among the first smartphones to use the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro chipset.
For context, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro is expected to be introduced at the Snapdragon Summit, scheduled for September 2026. The chipset may be based on a 2nm process node, support the LPDDR6 RAM standard, and feature an Adreno 850 GPU. Meanwhile, the iQoo 15 uses the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset based on a 3nm process.
Leaked camera details of the iQoo 16
Tipster Digital Chat Station on Weibo has now shared detailed camera specifications for the iQoo 16. The source suggests that the phone may feature a 50MP primary camera with a large 1/1.3-inch sensor and an f/1.68 aperture. It is also tipped to have a 50MP ultrawide camera with an f/2.0 aperture and a 50MP periscope telephoto camera with a 1/1.95-inch sensor and an f/2.65 aperture.
For comparison, the iQoo 15 uses a 50MP Sony IMX921 primary camera with a smaller 1/1.56-inch sensor. The iQoo 15 also has a 50MP periscope telephoto camera with a 1/1.95-inch sensor, matching the resolution and sensor format tipped for the iQoo 16.
Previously leaked specifications of the iQoo 16 include a 6.85-inch display with a "2K" resolution and a 165Hz refresh rate. The phone is also expected to pack a battery with a capacity of approximately 8,500mAh (20K Anker powerbank curr. $69.99 on Amazon).
