The iPhone 17 Air, focused on a slim design, is expected to launch later this year. A recent leak suggests the iPhone 17 Air may feature a battery capacity approximately 28% smaller than its direct competitor, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge.

The iPhone 17 Air is expected to debut later this year with a focus on a notably thin and lightweight form factor. Currently, there is no official information about the device; however, a new leak reveals details regarding its battery capacity.

The leak was shared on the Korean site Naver. According to the leak, the iPhone 17 Air will have a thickness of 5.5mm and weigh around 145g. Additionally, the iPhone 17 Air is tipped to have a 2,800mAh battery capacity.

The recently launched Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge (curr. $1,099 on Amazon) targets the same thin-and-light smartphone segment as the upcoming iPhone 17 Air. For comparison, the S25 Edge measures 5.8mm in thickness, weighs 163g, and houses a 3,900mAh battery.

To compensate for the iPhone 17 Air's small battery, a report suggests that Apple may bring an AI-powered battery-saving feature. Additionally, there are rumors suggesting the tech giant will sell battery cases for the phone.

Previous leaks suggest that the iPhone 17 Air will feature a 6.6-inch display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It may be powered by the Apple A19 chipset. It may also utilize the power-efficient C1 modem, which was first introduced with the iPhone 16e. The device may feature a single camera lens on the rear side. For now, all this information is unconfirmed and hence should be taken with a grain of salt.
