iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max to come with remarkably larger displays
Even though the iPhone 15 is yet to see the light of day, analysts and leakers are hard at work predicting what Apple has lined up for the iPhone 16 and iPhone 17 lineup. Some of the upgrades include (and are not limited to) periscope lenses, under-display Face ID and Wi-Fi 7. A screen size update could be in the pipeline, too.
Industry analyst Ross Young (H/T Macrumors) has some interesting new information about the 2024-bound iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max (or iPhone 16 Ultra). They will come with 6.2x and 6.8x-inch screens. Ross says he'll reveal the integer value of "x" later and says the aspect ratio will be slightly higher than their predecessors.
Whether or not the non-Pro models get the treatment remains to be seen. Apple would be wise to keep the screen size increase consistent across the board; otherwise, we could potentially end up with four iPhone 16 SKUs, each with different screen sizes.
Twitter leaker ShrimpApplePro chimes in, stating the increased screen sizes on the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro Max will be due to smaller bezels and a larger chassis. While Ross is highly revered and often makes correct predictions, it is far too early to jump to conclusions about a product that isn't due to launch anytime soon.
