According to the latest notes released by the respected analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple is likely to launch a foldable device by 2025. It is tipped to be an iPad rather than an iPhone, although not one capable of replacing the current Mini series due to its high price. Therefore, the two products might be available as basic and higher-end options among the Cupertino giant's next-gen tablet line-up.

The iPad Mini is projected to be back in late 2023 or early 2024 with a new generation powered by an up-to-date processor for a change. However, according to TF International Securities' well-known analyst, Ming-Chi Kuo, its series has a future even beyond that.

Apple is thought to finally get into the foldables market by 2025, although the Cupertino behemoth's first forays into the technology are rumored to turn out as tablets rather than smartphones, as the latter would be too expensive to develop until later.

Accordingly, "some media" have speculated that Apple's first-gen foldable will supplant the iPad Mini, perhaps based on size. However, as Kuo now maintains, this is unlikely to be the case, due (again) to the cost of the putative foldable alternative.

Therefore, it is just possible that there may be a foldable and non-foldable iPad Mini available in or around 2025, as a 'basic' prospect and its 'premium' alternative respectively.
