MWC 2016 | HTC announces three new Desire smartphones

These new Desire handsets are all mid-rangers with average specs and features, but offer many design options and come loaded with Android Marshmallow.

Next to the global variant of the One X9 handset, HTC has just unveiled three new mid-rangers that join the Desire lineup. All these devices are on display at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona and will hit the market starting next month. The names of the new Desire handsets are 530, 630, and 825.

These are the highlights of the new Desire handsets, all powered by Android 6.0 Marshmallow with Sense UI on top:

  • HTC Desire 530 - Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 SoC, 1.5 GB RAM, 16 GB internal storage, microSD slot, 5-inch HD, 5 MP front/8 MP back, 2200 mAh
  • HTC Desire 630 - Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 SoC, 2 GB RAM, 16 GB internal storage, microSD slot, 5-inch HD, 5 MP front/13 MP back, 2200 mAh
  • HTC Desire 825 - Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 SoC, 2 GB RAM, 16 GB internal storage, microSD slot, 5.5-inch HD, 5 MP front/13 MP back, 2700 mAh

The Desire 630 and 825 feature BoomSound with Dolby Audio, being Hi-Res Audio Certified. They will also come with a bundled Hi-Res headset to take full advantage of these features.

While pricing details are still unkown, HTC revealed that all these three handsets will hit the market via select retailers and HTC.com starting next month. The price and release date may differ depending on location.
