HTC unveiled yesterday no less than four new handsets that join the Desire family, all headed for the US market. All these new smartphones aim budget-conscious customers and feature low-end specs, but also offer solid build quality and attractive designs. HTC Desire 626s is probably the first to go on sale and will hit Sprint Prepaid this Sunday for a price of just $129 USD.
Direct competitor for smartphones like Motorola Moto E or Samsung Galaxy Core Prime, the Desire 626s comes with the following specs and features:
- Processor: Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 SoC with Adreno 304 graphics
- Memory/Storage: 1 GB RAM; 8 GB internal storage and microSD support
- Display: 5-inch multitouch with 1,280X720 pixels and 294 ppi
- Cameras: 2 MP front, 8 MP back with LED flash and autofocus
- Connectivity: 4G LTE, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS
- Operating system: Android 5.1 Lollipop with Sense UI
- Dimensions: 5.78X2.79X0.32 inches
Sprint Prepaid will only sell the marshmallow white Desire 626s starting on July 19, but other colors will probably be added later. For $35 USD a month, Sprint Prepaid offers unlimited talk, text, and 1 GB of data. The $45 USD plan offers 3 GB of data, while the 6 GB data plan costs only $10 USD more.
Those not happy with Sprint Prepaid will be able to get the HTC Desire 626s from T-Mobile for $169 USD, starting July 22nd.
