HTC announced today the launch of four new Desire-series smartphones in the United States. They are all low-end devices: HTC Desire 520, HTC Desire 526, HTC Desire 626, and HTC Desire 626s.

The new smartphones are very similar to each other in terms of specifications. They are all powered by the quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 SoC, clocked at 1.1 GHz, as well as the Adreno 304 graphics processor.

The HTC Desire 520, 526 and 626s come with just 8 GB of flash storage space, while the Desire 626 sports 16 GB. As for RAM, the Desire 520 and 526 are equipped with 1 GB of memory and the other two models (Desire 626 and 626s) can boast half a gigabyte more. All four models feature 8 MP main cameras and 2 MP front ones, with the exception of Desire 626 that uses a 5 MP sensor on front.

The main difference between the models lies with their display sizes and resolutions. Starting from the lower end: Desire 520 comes with a 4.5-inch 854x480 screen, Desire 526 with a 4.7-inch and 960x540, and both Desire 626 and 626s feature 5-inch screens with HD (1280x720) resolution. All new models have 2000 mAh batteries.

The HTC Desire 626, HTC Desire 626s, HTC Desire 526 and HTC Desire 520 will be available in a variety of colors from major U.S. carriers beginning this week.
