ASRock confirms production of gaming graphics cards

ASRock was recently rumored to break into the discrete graphics card market, but it still was not clear if the Taiwanese company would only manufacture mobile PCIe modules for its own mini PC business or also start manufacturing desktop cards in order to help alleviate the shortage of gaming GPUs on the market right now. There were some rumors regarding a possible ASRock - AMD partnership, as well, and speculators were quick to point out that AMD promised to ramp up the GPU production this year, making it more probable for ASRock to start manufacturing discrete desktop graphics cards.

Just yesterday, ASRock posted a teaser video for its upcoming Phantom Gaming line of products, and although it does not give any direct information, the company is clearly confirming that it is well on its way to introduce its first gaming graphics cards. The short teaser posted on ASRock’s Youtube channel does not reveal any graphics card, at least not fully, but does show a few pictures of what appears to be a dual fan cooling system and an auxiliary PCIe power connector, as well as the logo for the Phantom Gaming brand. Due to its rumored partnership with AMD, ASRock is expected to release RX Vega cards, but Nvidia’s GTX 1000-series and possibly the upcoming 2000-series are not completely off the table.

Back in 2002, ASRock was initially backed by ASUS when it first entered the motherboard market. With the Phantom Gaming brand, ASRock could potentially expand into the eSports market, just as Asus did with the Republic of Gamers branch, so we might see gaming systems and gaming accessories along with the upcoming graphics cards.
