Zepto is a Danish company and a reletivly new commer to UK shores which produces laptops mainly for those in Europe. The Znote 6625WD is a high end gaming and desktop replacement laptop which incorporates the latest technologies available such as the Santa Rosa platform from Intel and DirectX 10 from Microsoft in a 15.4” size, thus remaining portable. I am quite happy with my notebook, it has everything I was looking for and works just like I want it to. There are a few flaws as mentioned in the review but some will be taken care of as a result of the bios update and as for the others, the positives are enough to overshadow them and after all nothing is perfect.

Zepto may be best known for budget systems, such as the £499 Znote 3214W (web ID: 128744), but that doesn't mean it steers clear of innovation. The Znote 6625WD, for instance, has an unusually high screen resolution and a solid-state disk (SSD). The SSD is the 32GB MSD-SATA6025 from Mitron. Mitron claims an average access time of 0.1ms and sustained read/write speeds of 100MB/sec and 80MB/sec respectively. Mean time between failure is allegedly a million hours, and the drive itself claims a write endurance of 140 years at 50GB per day - which is higher than claims for other solid-state devices, such as CompactFlash cards. In our tests, though, we saw little benefit. In particular, its battery life results were poor.

When Intel launched Centrino technology, it meant longer battery life and mandatory Wifi for notebook computers. Santa Rosa and DirectX 10 graphics provide decent performance for the price; it’s a real shame about the keyboard though.

NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT: The NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT is the DirectX 10 capable successor of the GeForce Go 7600 GT GPU for laptops. Depending on the used graphic memory and the clock speed, the performance is between the 7600 GT and 7900 GS video card.
Only some 3D games with very low demands are playable with these cards.

Intel Core 2 Duo: This is the Core Duo and Core Solo successor with a longer pipeline and 5-20% more speed without more power consumption. As an addition to the Core Duo design there exists a fourth decoder, an amplified SSE-unit and an additional arithmetical logical unit (ALU).
The Core 2 Duo for laptops is identical to the desktop Core 2 Duo processors but the notebook-processors work with lower voltages (0.95 to 1188 Volt) and a lower Frontside bus clock (1066 vs 667 MHz). The performance of equally clocked notebooks is 20-25% lower than Desktop PCs because of the lower Frontside bus clock and the slower hard disks.
T7300: Mid-range (at the time of annoucement) dual core processor based on the Merom core. » Further information can be found in our Comparison of Mobile Processsors.
15.40":
15-inch display variants are the standard and are used for more than half of all laptops.
The reason for the popularity of mid-sized displays is that this size is reasonably easy on the eyes, often allows high resolutions and thus offers rich details on the screen, yet does not consume too much power and the devices can still be reasonably compact - simply the standard compromise.
» To find out how fine a display is, see our DPI List.2.91 kg:
With this weight, a laptop is rather heavier than average. Devices in this range shine more with screen size and performance than with mobility.
Zepto: Danish Zepto was established in 2002 with the purpose of supplying information technology products for Mobile Electronics and Digital Home. Today Zepto is Europe’s largest local manufacturer of notebook PC’s (if you count the producing factories in Turkey to Europe) and is represented in 19 countries. Zepto is a small Danish laptop manufacturer with a low market share in Europe. Starting with 2007, some laptop reviews for Zepto notebooks have been published, especially in Central Europe.
71.6%: This rating is poor. More than three quarters of the models are rated better. That is rather not a purchase recommendation. Even if verbal ratings in this area do not sound that bad ("sufficient" or "satisfactory"), they are usually euphemisms that disguise a classification as a below-average laptop.
