ZOTAC is facing criticism after reports of canceled RTX 50 series GPU orders followed by sudden price increases. The orders were canceled due to “system errors,” but the same cards reappeared with much higher prices.

ZOTAC is getting a lot of backlash right now after reports surfaced that the company canceled RTX 50 series GPU orders and then relisted the same cards at much higher prices. The situation feels very similar to Corsair, which faced similar criticism a few weeks ago for reportedly canceling DDR5 RAM orders before putting them back on sale at higher prices.

As per a Reddit user, several customers who placed orders for RTX 50 series cards yesterday later received cancellation emails from ZOTAC, even though their purchases initially went through without any errors. The email explained that the order was canceled due to a “system error” and promised a full refund to the original payment method. Customers were also told they could place the order again once the issue was fixed.

However, shortly after these cancellations, ZOTAC relisted its GPUs with significantly higher prices. Reports claim that the company raised prices across its RTX 5090 lineup by hundreds of dollars. Some models reportedly jumped from around $2,299 to $2,799, $2,399 to $2,899, and $2,449 to nearly $2,999. The RTX 5080 even saw a jump of around $250.

To make matters more confusing, the ZOTAC Store website is currently under maintenance. At the time of writing, there is no clear information on when the store will be back online or whether ZOTAC will officially respond to the backlash. Corsair did issue 40% discount coupons to its customers after their DDR5 RAM orders were cancelled. We’ll now have to wait and see how ZOTAC will respond to this.
