Noita is a 2D roguelike where every pixel in the world is procedurally generated with physics. You can use various spells to melt, blow up, or burn whatever is before you. The game was developed by Nolla Games, comprised of three indie veterans who have worked on games like The Swapper, Crayon Physics Deluxe, and Baba Is You.
The spells you create can be modified to aid in exploration, fighting, and controlling the elements to melt, freeze, burn, and evaporate your surroundings. Your goal is to explore as much as possible with every run, burrowing deep underground in search of new mysteries.
There is a deep alchemy and spell system in Noita that allows players to experiment to their heart's content. Your primary way of gathering spells is by finding or buying wands with various abilities. You combine and mix elements you locate to create more powerful ones or move these abilities to another wand with better stats.
Death is permanent. When you die, you lose all progress and are immediately sent back to the start. You also lose any items or abilities you may have picked up or upgraded. Each time you start, the world is reset and rolled again, awaiting more exploration and brand-new spells to discover.
Noita is 60% off on Steam until February 27.
