The Mi Mix 3 is rumored to get a major display upgrade with Samsung's OLED screens instead of the usual IPS LCDs. The thin bezels suggest the existence of a pop-up selfie cam, while the rear would be getting an impressive tri-camera setup. The phone will also be among the first to integrate wireless quick charging and it will cost ~US$569.

The Mi Mix 3 flagship is supposed to be Xiaomi’s answer to Vivo’s NEX and OPPO’s Find X smartphones that are already available and making waves. The latest leaks revealed a partial spec list, and by the looks of it, the Mi Mix 3 will come with some of the slimmest bezels around, as well as a motorized selfie camera and a more affordable price.

There is one particular pleasant surprise in the display department, as revealed by the latest leaks. Instead of the usual IPS LCD display, Xiaomi intends to equip the Mi Mix 3 with an OLED screen manufactured by Samsung. Since the display is rumored to have a 2:1 aspect ratio, the maximum resolution of the OLED screen could go as high as 2,880 x 1,440. Also, the absence of the upper notch and the slim bezels suggest the inclusion of a mechanized pop-up selfie camera. Not to mention that the rear side would feature a tri-camera setup.

On the minus side, all the latest flagship smartphone models come with no audio jack, and Mi Mix 3 is highly likely to continue this trend. Would an in-screen fingerprint sensor and a wireless quick charging option compensate for this? How about a rumored US$569 price for 6 GB RAM and 64 GB storage? Keep in mind that this model is powered by the Snapdragon 845 SoC, as well. The tradeoff seems like a no-brainer.

The official unveiling of the Mi Mix 3 is rumored to happen on September 15.
