Although most Xiaomi Mi A1 units in the wild are running at least Android 8.0 Oreo and will also receive Android P once it comes out, the launch date of its successor is near. Often labeled as one of the best handsets of last year, the Xiaomi Mi A1 is nothing but a Mi 5X with (almost) stock Android onboard. Now, the Mi A2 is ready to debut as an Android One-labeled Mi 6X.
The teaser that Xiaomi recently published on Twitter does not reveal much, only saying that big fans of the Mi A1 will love the A2. If the Mi A2 is as close to the Mi 6X as it was the case with the Mi A1 and Mi 5X, we should expect a handset with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor inside, next to up to 6 GB of memory and 128 GB internal storage, a 5.99-inch full HD+ display, a 20 MP selfie shooter, a dual setup on the back that combines a 12 MP and a 20 MP sensor, all driven by a 3,010 mAh battery.
If the leaks and rumors turn out to be true, the Mi A2 will come alongside a Mi A2 Lite. The differences between them will probably be visible in the memory and storage departments, but this is something that we will know for sure on July 24, when Xiaomi will unveil the handsets during a global launch event that will take place in Madrid, Spain.
