Xiaomi has recently revealed more core specs of the Redmi Turbo 5 Max, and now, the company has done the same for the non-Max smartphone. Previously, the brand confirmed that the affordable phone will be powered by the Dimensity 8500, which was unveiled alongside the 9500s.
While this SoC looks good on paper, recent benchmark listings suggest that it will not offer a notable performance difference. Xiaomi, however, claims that the SoC can offer a 25% improvement in terms of GPU performance.
The company further notes that the Dimensity 8500, branded as 8500-Ultra, is paired with LPDDR5X Ultra RAM and UFS 4.1 storage. With the "3D" VC cooling setup, this combination is said to make the SoC reach the "full performance potential."
Through another teaser, Xiaomi confirmed that the 6.59-inch display of the Redmi Turbo 5 comes with a 3,500-nit peak brightness rating. This is the same max brightness rating that the Turbo 5 Max has, and it should make the phone offer a comfortable viewing experience even under harsh lighting conditions.
Another core spec that Xiaomi revealed is that the phone packs a 7,560mAh battery, which is slighty larger than the battery of the Turbo 4 Pro. Like the Max, the Turbo 5 has support for 100W fast charging, and it supports 27W reverse charging as well (2-pack short 100W Iniu USB-C cable curr. $9.89 on Amazon).
Among the other newly shared specs are the IP66/IP68/IP69/IP69K water and dust resistance ratings and support for the PPS charging standard. The Turbo 5 is teased to reside within the CNY 2,000 price range, which is around $287.58, and the Chinese launch is set for January 29, 2026.
