Xiaomi confirms new international launch for sub-flagship phone

A few months have passed since Xiaomi launched the Redmi Turbo 5 and Redmi Turbo 5 Max. Announced in China, the pair remain exclusive to Xiaomi's home market. However, the Poco X8 Pro and Poco X8 Pro Max (curr. $499 on Amazon) arrived a few months later as global versions of the Redmi Turbo 5 and Redmi Turbo 5 Max, respectively.
Nonetheless, Xiaomi has now announced that it will be offering the Redmi Turbo 5 series internationally after all. For the time being, the company has not confirmed when it will begin selling new Redmi Turbo smartphones in India. A landing page already exists on Amazon, though. Hence, we would not be surprised if Amazon and other retail partners began stocking the Redmi Turbo 5 before the start of June.
Currently, Xiaomi has only revealed plans to launch the Redmi Turbo 5 in India. There is no reason why the company could not offer the Redmi Turbo 5 Max simultaneously, though. From Xiaomi's other social media channels, it seems that the Redmi Turbo 5 series will not be offered anywhere else for now. In the meantime, please see our Poco X8 Pro review for an insight into how the Redmi Turbo 5 will shape up before it arrives in India.
