Xiaomi is gearing up to launch a new affordable phone under the Poco branding, the C85 5G. The launch is set for December 9, 2025, which is around the corner. Ahead of this imminent release, the company has shared some core specs of the smartphone.
Among the newly revealed specs is the 6,000 mAh battery, which is touted to make the Poco C85 5G offer the "best battery experience" within its price segment. This relatively large battery has support for 33 W fast charging and 10 W reverse wired charging, matching what the Redmi 15C 5G offers.
Speaking of which, the design is also very similar to the Redmi 15C 5G, and per the official photos, the Poco C85 5G features a dual camera setup on the back. Xiaomi has even confirmed that the rear has a 50 MP primary camera, matching the main sensor of the Redmi phone.
All this suggests that the Poco C85 5G will be a rebrand of the Redmi 15C 5G. However, the former will be a bit more widely available as Poco-branded phones are designed for expanded global coverage.
Nonetheless, if it's indeed a rebranded version of the Redmi 15C 5G, the Poco C85 5G will be powered by the Dimensity 6300, a mid-range SoC from 2024. The front will sport a 6.9-inch IPS screen with a 120 Hz refresh rate and an 810 nits HBM brightness rating.
The Poco C85 5G is also expected to retain the microSD slot, allowing users to expand the storage (128 GB Samsung EVO Select curr. $15 on Amazon). There's still no word on the price, but the Redmi 15C 5G had a starting launch price of INR 12,499 in India, around $138, and about €140 in the EU, around $163.
